Aireshield is a reusable HVAC air‑disinfection module that uses a confined non‑thermal plasma field to neutralize airborne pathogens and to cluster ultrafine particles so standard filters can capture them more easily.
Air passes through a confined plasma field (~5,500 volts, low amperage). The field disrupts pathogen membranes (neutralizing viability) and imparts electrical charges to particles, driving agglomeration (clumping). Larger clumps are readily captured by downstream filters.
Aireshield can serve as a standalone 1″ filter, but it delivers the best results when installed first in the track (upstream), followed by a standard post‑filter (e.g., MERV 8 or MERV 13).
Pairing Aireshield with a downstream filter boosts capture efficiency: MERV 8 + Aireshield performs like MERV 13; MERV 13 + Aireshield approaches MERV 16—without the added static pressure of very high‑MERV filters.
Yes. Aireshield is certified ozone‑free under UL 2998. Independent testing shows ozone production below 1 ppb—well under recognized safety thresholds—and no harmful byproducts.
Viruses (including SARS‑CoV‑2 surrogates), bacteria, mold spores, smoke/PM2.5, and common allergens. Third‑party testing confirms >99% neutralization of representative pathogens.
No. By enabling high filtration performance at lower static pressure, Aireshield can reduce fan energy compared to high‑MERV/HEPA approaches. Many users see meaningful efficiency gains.
Aireshield fits standard 1″ residential tracks and can be paired with 2–6″ tracks in commercial systems. Multiple units can be daisy‑chained in larger RTUs/AHUs. A 24″×24″ module typically draws under 12 watts.
Testing aligns with ASHRAE 52.2 and supports ASHRAE 241 objectives for infectious aerosol control. Safety certifications include UL 2998 and CSA 22.2 No. 187.
